Affordable and Eco-Friendly Public Warehousing
Eco-friendly Distribution Company
Our customer service department works daily with you in mind. At Hopkins, we value our clients, as well as their vision and needs. We strive to ensure accuracy and make it a priority to treat our client’s employees, inventory and processes as our own. Warehouses are the center of the transportation and 3PL logistics industry. Public and private warehouses in Northern Nevada store and transport goods all over the country, keeping the economy going and making Reno the center of attention for many new businesses that have begun to situate themselves in the Biggest Little City.
Efficiency and sustainability are important in a warehouse and distribution center. It not only mitigates harmful effects to the environment but it also lowers operating costs for you, the client. Below are some of the ways that Hopkins maintains an eco-friendly distribution facility.
Hopkins is located in Reno, Nevada which offers a relatively dry and mild climate. Products stored in our region are not subject to severe changes in weather and the dry climate promotes long carton life for your packaging. For this reason, Hopkins facilities use an intricate fan system to pull cool air into the warehouse during the coolest hours of the night during the summer months. The cool air is circulated in the insulated warehouse to keep your products at the most efficient storage temperature. This allows us to store perishable items inexpensively and the ability to offer our clients energy efficient ways to store and distribute their goods.
Ways that Hopkins Distribution ensures that we are being as eco-friendly as possible, on top of our manageable climate, is through simple and small acts, that make a big impact in our warehouse. Things like turning off the lights, using less plastic packaging, recycling plastic, wood, and other materials used to crate, pallet, or transport our customer’s goods – through these easy tasks, we make sure that we are doing our part to be as eco-friendly as possible.
Reno is home to over 60 less-than-load, truckload and small package carriers with the ability to service major metropolitan cities with overnight service at regular ground delivery rates. Additionally, Reno has railroad access to the Southern Pacific Railroad and an international airport supporting 12 major airlines. Due to the tremendous volume of shipping in and out of Northern Nevada, carriers are able to load direct schedules to all major markets, streamlining transit times and decreasing mileage.
Hopkins Distribution can accommodate over 16,780 product pallets, all of which are recycled from other carriers and reused. We never buy a new pallet unless it is specific to a client’s needs. Hopkins is also very careful with drain runoff and waste disposal in order preserve surrounding community areas.
